The Change We Strive To Make

Stewart’s Medical Journey

We pulled him from Upland Animal Shelter — Stewart is such a loving, sweet and playful little guy. We only had him for a few short days before he took a turn for the worst. This past Saturday he became super lethargic with zero appetite, a fever of 104.5 and bloody diarrhea. He was taken to the vet when they discovered he is postive for campylobacter, clostridium and shockingly parvovirus.

For being a fully vaccinated adult, it is incredibly rare for the parvo diagnosis. He is currently under quarantine while hospitalized. He has received a blood transfusion for plasma, fluids, antibiotics and a number of tests.

Due to the quarantine, we are unable to visit him. All we can do is hope that he is strong enough to pull through this and quickly. The vets seem hopeful and are doing everything they can to treat him.

Please donate towards his life saving medical treatment / hospitalization to help save his life ❤️

Silvie + Her Valentine’s Pups

Silvie was brought into San Bernardino County Animal Shelter as a stray with her 7 puppies. After we pulled them we discovered they were sick — suffering from coughing, sneezing, congested eyes and runny noses.

We took them to a vet immediately where they received a number of tests and antibiotics. A few days later, Silvie started sizing multiple times and was rushed to an emergency vet to be seen by a neurologist.

Currently she is on an anti-seizure medication while we wait for all of her test results come back to determine what is causing her to be sick and seize.

Her and her puppies are so sweet and loving, happy to be in homes where they are loved and cared for.

Please donate towards all of their continued medical care and needs ❤️

9 China Puppies Rescued

We were notified about a situation in the hills of Beijing, China at an abandoned farm — a couple hundred dogs living alone with no shelter or access to food and water. A group of local activists and rescuers have been caring for them while also providing the necessary medical treatment.

We have been asked to take 9 puppies — They are so young and little but have survived such unfortunate conditions with the weather dropping below zero during the day time. These puppies are fighters, just like Betty White. They will be transported by car and are due to arrive at our China Shelter on the 21st.

All the puppies will be named after some of the characters Betty White portrayed

In honor of Betty White’s birthday and all she stood for, please donate towards their care and transport ❤️

Be A Foster…Change A Life

What Foster-Based Means

We rely on our foster family to provide care and a safe home to each of our rescued animals. Being a foster is a life changing experience, one where you get to help change an innocent animal’s life by showing them love and what it means to feel safe. Most organizations don’t have a location to house the animals they rescue — fosters make up that difference so rescue organizations can help more animals in need.

How To Become A Foster For Us

To apply to become a foster with us you must first fill out an application and send photos and/or a video tour of your home including any areas, inside and out, that the animal will have access to.

You Can Make A Difference

Be A Forever Home

Forever change your life and welcome a new face into your family. Each and every one of our animals are rescued and given a second chance to find their forever homes.

Volunteer Your Time

Make a difference in a animals life and volunteer your time for them. With your help, each animal can be supported through their new journey on their way to their forever home.

Make A Donation

We are only able to do what we do with your help and support. From rescues to legislation to education, every dollar goes towards raising awareness for animal advocacy.

Reporting Animal Abuse

If you hear about or witness animal abuse please speak up. It is important to always get proof so that the Police/Sheriffs/Animal Control have evidence and can hopefully help rescue the animal in need.

Getting photos and videos of the acts is the most important and helpful thing you can do before reporting it. Without proof, there is usually little that can be done by the officials.

Animal Hope in Legislation

H.R. 6720 Dog and Cat Meat Prohibition Act

December 12, 2018

The Dog and Cat Meat Prohibition Act passes both the House and Senate in the 2018 Farm Bill. This law prohibits the consumption and slaughter of dogs and cats for meat in the United States, strengthening the position of groups and activists overseas looking to do the same.

While this seldom happens here in America, it still occurs with a number of multiple recent cases in Hawaii, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and New York. Many of these dogs and cats were taken from shelters, some found as strays, other stolen pets from families.

The passage of this monumental measure, is Animal Hope in Legislation’s second legislative victory. Less then three percent of all federal measures introduced each year pass and become law.

We are extremely grateful to all the activists who made calls, attended rallies, and to the individuals and groups that pushed this legislative measure forward.

To Sean Doherty from WildHorse Consulting for never giving up. Congressman Alcee Hastings and Lale Morrison, for being the bill’s initial sponsor, and giving us a chance. And to all the people who supported the foundation, and believed in the importance of this legislative act.

CA Fur Ban

October 12, 2019

We are proud to announce the passing of the Animal Hope in Legislation sponsored California State Fur Ban - AB 44. Today Governor Newsom made history by signing this landmark bill into law. A bill that will ban the sale of fur throughout the entire state of California.

This will create a ripple of change throughout the country, and stands in solidarity with many of the fur free policies created by companies and local governments in recent years.

There is no humane way to skin an animal for their fur. And absolutely no reason for an animal to suffer so horribly for the sake of fashion. The passage of this landmark piece of legislation shows that as a society we are progressing towards a more compassionate future.

Thank you to Laura Friedman and staff for being amazing leaders throughout this process. Our lobbyist Rob Grossglauser for helping guide this bill through. And to all the activists and organizations that helped along the way and throughout the years in the fight against fur. Today history has been made.
